I’ve always wanted to see the Three Sisters (cue frowny face).

Beanie hair alert! (For one of us, anyway……)

Our second trip away as a couple using the excuse of a work conference.   A three day get-away to spend time in the stunning Blue Mountains of New South Wales.  After nearly 60 years living within a 4 hour drive, I was embarrassed to say I’d never been there.

It was the middle of winter, July 2016.  It was cold.  It was rainy.  It was romantic and fun.

It was foggy and cloudy…….

This is what we were supposed to see…..

It started to clear……

I’ve yet to see the Three Sisters……   But there’s many more beautiful places for walking and exploring.

The accommodation was awesome.  We stayed at the popular Fairmont Resort in Leura.  It was comfortable and the sitting areas were cosy with open fires.  Unfortunately it was school holidays.  Oh yes, plenty of long hallways for the little ones to run around.  Joy…..

A highlight was a cheese and wine tasting with fantastic local and interstate cheeses in one of the lounges.

We knew at this moment that we would always be joined in our passion of food, wine, love of adventure and cozy fires to enjoy all three.
